BSA Troop 32
Welcome to the BSA Troop 32
information page for second year Webelos. We hope we can answer a few
questions you might have.
Who are you?
We are chartered by the Knights of Columbus Council #759. Troop 32 has been continuously active since 1927.
Our current Scoutmaster is Mr. David Braack and may be reached by email by clicking here
scoutmaster if you have anymore questions.
Where and when do you meet?
We typically meet each Tuesday night from 7:00PM to
8:30PM at the
Knight's of Columbus Hall, 1907 Whitley Road, Keller, Texas. Please check our
activities calendar to verify this,
as best laid plans do change from time to time. Every 3rd Tuesday is our PLC, or Patrol Leaders Council.
Any other Tuesday of the month we have meetings that are better suited for your visit. At these meetings, we will
have scouts and scouters available to meet with you and answer any questions you might have. We encourage you to
visit us more than once. Please contact our Scoutmaster so that we may better prepare for your visit.

Google maps is approximate, but provides the true location on Whitley Road.
Do you go on outings, and can we come along?
Yes. The
Troop typically has one outing per month, with a theme and
activity set by our Patrol Leaders Council (PLC). If you wish to
join us on one of our outings, you will want to make sure you
attend the meeting prior to the outing, again check our
calendar. At that meeting you will receive instructions on what
you should do to prepare, the cost if any, and what to bring for
the outing.
We strongly encourage all Webelos families interested in learning more about Boy Scouts and Troop 32 to join us for
our Webelos Welcome Weekend event. This event provides an opportunity for Webelos to get firsthand experience with
a Boy Scout Troop and to fulfill several of the Webelos Arrow of Light requirements. For 2011, the event is scheduled
for November 12 - 13 at Worth Ranch. For more information on this event, please contact
Jim Greer cell 214-537-6468), or
Doug Jones cell 817-946-7452).
Will Troop 32 come to my
crossover?
Yes. Crossovers for the Webelos groups may be
arranged with the Scoutmaster. If you are interested in joining Troop 32 and would like a Scoutmaster or Troop
representative to attend your Arrow of Light ceremonies, please the Scoutmaster with the date, time, location,
and number of scouts desiring to cross to Troop 32. Upon joining Troop 32, Webelos become a part of the
"Panther Patrol". This patrol works together to form friendships, maturity, and scouting skills.
New scouts are taught skills, work on their "Road to First Class", and begin earning merit badges.
Permanent, smaller patrols are formed at a later date.
Will I get a Troop 32
neckerchief at my crossover?
Yes. At the crossover ceremony, the Webelos
will receive the Troop patch, the red epilates, and a panther patrol patch for his scout shirt. All crossover scouts
begin as part of the Panther Patrol. The custom of the Troop 32 is for the scout to receive their neckerchief when
they earn their Tenderfoot Rank. A "T32" neckerchief will be awarded at this time.
What is the Troop 32 Panther Program?
A Scout’s experiences during his first year
after crossing over to Boy Scouts often will have a meaningful influence on his desire of staying with the Scouting
program. The Troop 32 Panther Program is a first year Scouting program that is designed to successfully transition
Webelos Scouts into the Boy Scout program. The program consists of several parts, including Panther Trails,
Panther Camp and additional activities that occur during the new Scout’s first summer with the Troop.
By the end of the Scout’s first summer, he will have learned the basics of Boy Scouts, learned the patrol method,
and will typically have advanced one or more ranks.
What is Panther Trails?
The Panther Trails outing is typically the first
true weekend outing for our new Scouts that have just crossed over from Webelos. It is designed to get these new Scouts
on their first campout and provide them with the basics of outdoor life. It also provides an opportunity for our
experienced Scouts to put into practice their outdoor skills and leadership abilities. New Scouts will be introduced
to the patrol method, working as a team and setting up their own campsite. Woods tools, first aid, knots and lashing,
fire building and safety, and cooking skills are just a few of the things to be taught on the outing. In 2012,
Panther Trails is scheduled for March 23 - 25.
What is Panther Camp?
Panther Camp is T32's one-week summer resident camp for Scouts who have just joined Boy Scouting. The week is filled
with fun and activities that assist the new Boy Scout in successfully transitioning to Boy Scouts. The Camp is led by
senior Boy Scouts, and the skills taught include how to pitch tents, how to build a fire, how to prepare meals,
how to tie knots, 1st Aid, and other beginning Scout skills. Scouts have the opportunity to earn their Fireman Chit,
Totin' Chip, and various Merit Badges while they participate in workshops, team building activities, games, and
patrol duties. Panther Camp is scheduled for the first full week in June.
We look forward to seeing you at
Troop 32 and hope you will join us in "Celebrating Scouting Since 1927".
