TROOP 32 FEE'S

$$$Where do my fee's go$$$

As an organization we are required to "recharter" or pay or annual dues plus BSA insurance to Boy Scouts of America (BSA). On top of the dues we pay to BSA, Troop 32 has its own fees that we charge our members to help cover of the money it cost to run the troop. These fee's pay for many different miscellaneous items such as new merit badge books, advancement patches, merit badge's, new/replacement camping equipment like chuck box's and the items inside each, cast iron pot for making the cobbler we all like, lantern's, cook stoves, the troop trailer, and the list goes on.

The cost:
Each Scouts (youth under the age of 18) is $75.00: of that $17.00 goes to BSA, and the remaining $58.00 stays with the troop.
Each Scouter (adult over the age of 18) is $25.00: of that $17.00 goes to BSA, and the remaining $8.00 stays with the troop.
Boy's Life magazine is $12.00 additional, and is paid directly to BSA.

**** On February 11th, 2008 the committee voted to cap the cost to any family at $100.00, Boy's Life is still additional. ***

An example: 2 scout's, 1 scouter, and Boy's Life magazine for 1 year is $112.00 payable to "Troop 32"

Q: What if I my son and I just rechartered with Cub Scouts and we are crossing over?
A: That is easy: The recharter chairman needs to know which Pack you are crossing over from and when your recharter was complete. The transfer fee is $1.00 paid to BSA, and $63.00 for the troops fee for your son, and $13.00 for the troops fee for adult's. This pricing is assuming the Pack recharters on the same 12 calendar months as the troop.

Q: What if we rechartered as a Cub Scout in a different month?
A: See the recharter chairman for the additional fee's to bring your membership in line with Troop 32's date. The additional fee is the partial year's fee that BSA charges us. This additional fee covers the months from your other units recharter month to ours. For example if your pack recharters in December then we collect the fee for Jan, Feb, and March of the next year which puts you on our time table.

Q: It is the middle of the year and my son and I want to join, we are new to scouts or did not recharter with our last group, how much is it?
A: See the recharter chairman for the prorated fee's and the Troop's annual dues.

Q: What if I want to be an adult member in the Pack as well as Troop 32? Do I have to pay both organizations?
A: No you can be registered with both units for no additional fee. Jus tell the recharter chair about this. But you must still pay one of the groups your annual fee.

Q: What if the cost is a problem?
A: Talk with the recharter chairman, these situation's are kept in strict confidence. Being a large Troop with allot of history we do have sponsor's that can be called upon.

We want to make membership and keeping your membership as easy as possible. Hopefully this has answered some questions about our fee's.

NOTE: Fee's for BSA membership increase from 10 to 15 for 2010 plus about 2.00 for insurance.
